I remember us having "Country Squire", wood trim, all the "Bling".. of the day... loaded up, kids & gear, to go camping, like in Tbar's pics.

NOW.. we're not "Camping".. til I get Satellite reception set the time on the Microwave... ;):lmao

Still hate to see the "Wagon".. go away tho :(

We had a wagon through most of my childhood. We actually had a Ford Fairmont Wagon like the one in the article. It was white with no woodgrain. That was the last wagon, then we went to a full-size custom van. I currently own a wagon. I have a 98 Mercury Sable Wagon (Taurus). Nice car, sad to see them go. I own another wagon that was killed off also.... the Excursion.... Now that is a full size family car!!!!!

The Magnum has been discontinued too.

We didn't have a wagon while I was growing up, but as an adult, I bought a 1980 Chevy Caprice Diesel Wagon (bad mistake engine-wise), 1986 yellow Chevy Celebrity wagon (kids friends called it the bananamobile), and a 1989 Celebrity wagon (which got totalled a few years later). Hopefully they'll be back one day.

We had an 84 Celebrity wagon.. 2.8L V6 with the jump seat..
man, we was a stylin' when we was first married..

Im not a big GM fan but I really liked those Vista Cruisers. Loved the windows on the roof. A big ole full size Ford wagon like the old Fairlane/Galaxie/Torino wagons from the 60's and early 70's were my favorites.

JL, our 86 Celebrity had the 2.5 L 4 cyl. It was a great engine, originally a 153 CID 4 originally used in the 62 Chevy II and later put in Pontiacs as the "Iron Duke". My biggest problem was changing the oil with the filter being next to the firewall. The 86 had 151,000 miles on it and starting to have problems so I found the 89 at the local Ford dealer with 51,000 miles. Other than the color (Blue), the 89 was identical to the 86. We bought it in '92 and drove it 3 years until it (and almost us) was totalled in the summer of '95. Then we went to a Crown Vic which we drove for 158,000 miles until we got the 02 diesel.

We had a country squire also for a while when i was about 17, it was a real jewel. Dad bought it from some old man that bought it new. He kept it in the garage at all times. The wod grain looked like someone had just rubbed it down with pledge. That rear facing third seat pretty cool. But I'd still rather have the chevy conversion van with the t.v. and vcr that we replaced it with.
