I noticed it dripping off the back of the engine so when I looked fuel was sitting in the valley under where the fuel filter sits.
Any ideas on common problems or where to start on that one ?

Thanks

1. Gasket in the fuel bowl lid.
2. Bowl drain valve.
3. Fuel line.

On the newer SD trucks it is usually the drain valve o-rings but on ours it seems to be the fuel lines more often. Check the lid first as it is easy to see.

4. Cracked fuel bowl
5. Drip at threads of fuel restriction sensor on FPR
6. Weeping fuel pump

If it's the drain that's leaking you'll need two size 202 Viton orings.
Don't expect Ford or International to sell you them.
McMaster-Carr has them

1.Its not the lid. I checked that when I put a new filter in.
2.I thought the bowl drain valve had a line that ran down to the lower part of the engine?
3. To check the fule line I guess I have to take off the bowl eh ?!

What ever that is on the back, bottom of the fuel bowl (it looks like lines going into it) it has fuel on it. So something under or along side the bowl is leaking.
Guess I will just have to start tearing appart and find where it is leaking.
Thanks guys:thanks

fuel pump

i had the same problem about 6 months ago. It ended up being the fuel pump that sits in the valley. If it leaks it is designed to drain out the back side of the valley. Reminded me of the weep hole on water pumps. it took me a while to figure out what it was.

my money is on the fuel pump....DAMN ULSD!!!

i found the only way to accurately diag where my leak was coming from was to power wash the valley until it sparkled, dry it off with rags, and i started it and ran it at 2000rpms for about a minute. i looked and saw a 2" stream coming from the pump.

when mine went it was tricky because it was only leaking at higher rpms, i has previously let it idle for hours waiting for a leak to show up.

it very well could also be cracked hoses, or the other things stated above. i recommend changing the hoses even if they arent leaking at this time, cheap and easy insurance.

Good thinking. I would have not thought of that. My buddy has a real good power washer that runs on diesel fuel. I will do that. Thanks !
