Ok, now what about towing? What is the gas milage like between the 2wd and 4x4... i expect to be towing anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000lbs MAX.

I would go with the 03 6.0L but not for $30K+.
I purchased my 2003 F350 CC DRW 6.0 4x4 with 39,000 miles on December 6th, 2004 from a Ford Dealer and gave $31,900.00. Check around you can find a better deal. I really like the 6.0L vs 7.3L. I had a 2002 Excursion w/7.3 pulling a 32ft travel trailer. I now have the 2003 F350 DRW and pull a 32ft 5th wheel. You can definitely tell the difference.

Hello Mike, Yes I two would go for the 6.0 and two wheel drive. I know that you want that color of a truck and they may be rare. I like the lower mileage also. I am in love with my 06-6.0 and I got it new for just under $39.000 back in July of 05.
The ride is great and 4 people can ride all day long in comfort with all kinds of room in the back seat. I could go on for a while longer but it is bed time for this old man. LOL
Be very careful when you get the truck regardless of which one you get. Your face will hurt for the first few days you have it from smiling all of the time.

Good to know the milage isnt that different.
I was hoping you were a little further north. Being that i am out of country i have no way to test drive it. Do you know if anybody that has delt with Bell Ford? I called up Doug Walker at the dealer and he didnt sound too interested in helping me out.

Yeah i saw that (see the second post), i figured a few more thousand dollars and i can have brand spankin new... hell yeah.

Just an update:
Looks like the first thruck (7.3L 4x4) was already sold and i think i have worked out a deal for the other truck. So it looks like i will be going with the 6.0.
