Which Gauge

I am planning on getting a 4 gauge pillar mount gauge setup, I plan on putting my Bully Dog GT tuner in one of the pods, a coolant temp gauge in another (since the factory gauge is pretty much just an idot light), and a digital voltmeter in another. I am just not sure what I want to put in the the other hole. I was thinking either oil pressure, or trans temp but I am not sure if trans temp is that important since I have a manual, it sill uses ATF and pumps it through a cooler though and the GT monitors it possibly.

My GT monitors, Boost, EGT, oil temp, intake temp, RPM, Throttle position, Barometer, Oil temp, Injector control pressure, Trans temp. and Fuel usage. But there is only 4 values that can be up at a time I like to have the oil temp, EGT, boost and speed up, I wish there was a way to scroll through some of the values automatically.

What do you think.

A Fuel Pressure gauge maybe ?

I have one on my 2K.. good info to know. And.. If the normal psi starts to drop some (?) it's an indication that it might be time for a filter change.

And... While yer pull'n wire(s) ? You can monitor Coolant temp & Trans temp, using One temp gauge.. by hook'n up a DP/ST, mini toggle switch.

Center pin goes to the gauge, other pin from (say) the coolant temp sensor..remaining pin from the Trans temp sensor.

I mounted the mini switch at the top left of the gauge, on the pillar pod.

Good info to know... even with a 6 speed.. when towing.

I like that Idea, I think I am going to go with a Electric Fuel Pressure gauge, and coolant/transmission with the micro switch. Now I just gotta figure out where to mount the Fuel pressure sender, I hear it goes on the engine fuel filter somewhere. Get the 0-100 gauge.

0-100 is good. 70 psi @ idle is where you want to be. There's a DIY WIKI about that.

On the back side of the filter housing, right of center, there's an unused test port to tap the psi from, an isolator is recommended.. that's in th WIKI too.

Hmmm.. yer right.

It Was mentioned in the "Shimming the FPR" WIKI but some of the verbiage is missing & pics are gone nowadayz :dunno

But.. If a [Pressure Type] FP gauge is installed in the cab, an isolator is a good idea, under the hood.. should the gauge fail.. you won't leak/spray dezel fuel into the cab. A smell you'd never get rid of ?

The line from the isolator (longest run), to the gauge, is filled with a small amount of Coolant, not diesel fuel.

I just got the electric one, I don't want 60lbs of pressure of anything in the cab. The mecanical one is only like $50 but you have to get the isolator for what I saw was $75 plus all the adapter fitting and hose gets pretty near the electrics price. I found an electric one on Summit racing website for $207 for the autometer phantom gauge. Got all my other gauges and senders there plus the 4 gauge pod. Got the Fuel pressure gauge, Digital Volt Gauge, Coolant gauge, plus another sensor for the transmission and the 4 gauge pillar mount and shipping for a little under $400.

"Back in The Day", when I did the Gauges thing.. Digital/Electrical, verses Analog, was Outa Sight, as far as price went..

IIRC, Digital was guna be like $600.00+ bucks.. I went Analog.
