if thats a drain plug its NOT in the lowest position...unfortunately,
so youd STILL have to pull the cover !

Bama, in your picture, is that a drain plug in the lower right corner of the cover? Ooooooh drain plug. Just bought mine from ford for 59 bucks no bolts , maybe.... stainless allen heads.

Well, thats not mine, I found that pic on the web while doin some searching one night.

I think the owner did that so he could hook up a rear diff. sensor and a gauge in the cab.

Its really not that bad to pull the cover to drain the fluid, especially when the gasket is just sillycone. Think Ill rattle can my cover flat black. It would be nice for someone with a temp sender to post some before and after temps with steel cover and aluminum cover.

Is there a comparable cover available for the front diff?

I'm talking about one about the same price, not one like a Magtec one that cost 2 months of allowance.:D

Hey TG, I think I may have found a front diff cover.

This one is supposed to be one for a 2004. They even have the chrome diff. cover bolts

They may have one for your year model too.

Yeah, and it's pretty low in the pan. I don't think a quarter inch would make that much of a difference. Now if only they'd give you a rear fill point, that would be the cat's meow...

Actually, I think I'm going to order one.
