What to look for.

I'm going today to look at a used 2005 f250 crewcab with the 6.0. What do I need to look for and what things should I do before deciding to make the purchase. The truck has 124,000 miles.

I would look under the truck for any leaks front or rear of engine. I would look at the coolant degas bottle. make sure there are no coolant stains around cap. Also if possible get maintanace records. Those are very important! Is the truck modded? Also look for things like abuse. Such things like rubber on the inside wheel wells from the tires being shredded. Ive seen this on many used trucks at the dealer. Peaple beat the hell out of them before they trade them in.

Oasis report....have a diagnostic computer hooked up to it

I had an Oasis report run and it came back with just the EGR cooler being replaced in Nov. 09.

I suggest you get an independent tech to look it over. By independent, I mean get a dealership tech with the proper scanning tools that knows how to do it. Most important of all, this tech CANNOT have any knowledge of owner of the truck.
