We got this Dodge Dually delivered to us last night for a customer. It had a weak battery so we put it on the charger and I noticed this hose.

What is replacing/removing?

:dunno

Maybe it's a precision trailer backing inihibiter removal mod.
There must be a device on a Cummins which prevents a person from exhibiting proficiency in backing a trailer. Maybe the device by passes that inhibitor to allow one to back a trailer without looking like a dork.

This past weekend Mrs TG and I went camping to Muskallonge Lake State Park. Twice I witnessed, people with Dodge Cummins in pathetic displays of trailer backing and parking. Both times they took in excess of 45 minutes to get their campers where they wanted. One guy had an older Cummins that you could hear idling from over 400 feet away. After 45 minutes of vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, I was about 2 minutes away from going over and asking if he'd like me to do it for him. Thank God he finally got it parked and shut that noisey thing off.

Don't get me started on the other guy, best entertainment I've had in a long time. (Best 40 point unintentional u-turn in a campground I've ever seen :roflmao)

I used to own a Dodge Cummins but mine was the 5.9 instead of the 6.7. I have never seen anything like that before. It's definitely not factory. Perhaps a circulating coolant heater?

And just to defend Dodge drivers, there are plenty of Ford and GM drivers that can't back a trailer either. Stupidity is not limited by name plates on trucks. Most people in campgrounds spend about an hour a year actually backing a trailer into position. I am a truck driver (or was, hope to be again if I can find a job) and I cringe when I see these big fifth wheel campers pull in to the truck stop ahead of me. I don't know what they're going to do but I know it will be stupid and make me sit there and wait for them while they try to remove their head from their butt.
