:lmao :notworthy

"...you will be directed to preform a series of tests that increase the billable hours for the service department, but beyond that, serve no useful function..."
:lmao

I find this so funny because I worked for Chrysler some 25 years ago (remember the K car?) and the only test for the POS ECC was hook it up to this machine (that no one knew how it worked), and when it spat out a series of codes when it was done testing, you had to go look these up in a book they sent you every model year.

Thing was, the codes you got were never in the book, so you call the Tech Line, only to be told, "... you need to get your DRB updated and you need to have the Parts Dept order service manual update # YZX-666..." which didn't exist in the publications catalog...

Chrysler and Freightliner are one in the same? I never knew that but it explains why Freightliners are plastic POSs.

Yep, and Ford sold their L-Series (Louisville Line) trucks to Freightliner, who renamed them Sterlings. Sterling replaced the Ford oval in the hood to a big "S".

yes & No, Daimler-Benz bought Chrysler/Jeep/Plymouth/Dodge/Freightliner/Sterling etc and stripped all of the profitable divisions (heavy trucks) did what was needed to float the cars until they could sell them, the buyer was cerebrus financial which is who was the owner when they went into bankruptcy court and wanted nothing to do with the company when they came out and voluntarily gave up all ownership in the company.

So today Freightliner is a Daimler-Benz company
