Question What did you do to your truck today?

finished up replacing the rotted out brake line the runs down the frame from the ABS unit, the backing plate/park brake assemblies, new pads, rotors, and rear calipers.. bled the rear of the system..

now on to the front.. new ball joints, left side axle joint, and new pads & rotors up front..

somewhere along the line, I have to put a new piece of steel in the rocker panel of the cab to bolt the left running board to, or scrap the running boards altogether and put on a pair of shin scrapers.

If your truck is like mine, with the left caliper mounted ahead of the axle and the right one behind, you CAN NOT retro to "both behind" The bolt patterns are different on the axle tube flange.

Anyone wanna buy a backing plate/caliper mount?

I have been working most of these projects for a while. Finally took the time to put the finishing touches on everything. I pulled the passenger side of the rear seat today and ran all the wiring and air tank guage line through the grommet in the back of the cab. Also ran a few extra wires for future use.

My 2000 had the calipers on opposite side of the rear axle. I have seen other 2000 model year trucks with the caliper on the same side of the axle. I think the change was mid year 2000.

Well I bought my first 6.0 a week ago with 270k miles on it and I love it. Today it received a 4" straight pipe exhaust which I'm very pleased with. I've ordered a coolant filter kit, Head studs, oil cooler, egr delete, sct 3015, and I'll buy head gaskets soon since I work at a ford dealer they aren't really any problem to get ahold of.

Did a little research over the weekend since I installed my coolant filter kit (NAPA #4019) and had a waterfall of green antifreeze pour outta the lines "DAMM!T" Thanks previous owner. Not trying to advertise on here but hopefully this will help someone since I work for a Ford Dealer with a NAPA parts store in it, give me 20 minutes and I'll find you a part number for anything NAPA sells. Yes we sell FoMoCo and NAPA. Zerex (PN# ZXED-1) is the CAT EC-1 antifreeze we offer that is full strength and (PN# ZXEDRU-1) is the 50/50 mix and they are about $4 a gallon cheaper than buying from a cat dealer or diesel shop. Like I said not advertising (they don't pay me enough for that) just tryin to help anyone needing the Zerex part numbers. Believe it or not NAPA offers a fair amount of high quality alternatives to certain things for these trucks that won't break the bank... No our ARP studs aren't cheaper... I already checked

Got my HIDs installed in the headlights and fog lights. Nothing new, just the ones off the old truck.

I want to upgrade to HIDs on my truck. I've heard of retro solutions, but haven't heard much about them one way or another. What did you use? Are you happy with them? I just want a plug and play kind of setup to where I dont have to do a ton of modification.
