On your valve springs? Are you using CC springs locks and retainers? Or are you going with the old faithful "rev kit"? Stock HG?
i'm still not decided on to go with the old faithful rev kit.i have a line on something that will be coming out and they just happen to need another tester:D .i will be going with stock HG.this is my reasoning.i have been making around 47 LBS of boost i have been down the track alot plus all the street play.i have not a problem with stock HG and headstuds.

but please if you guys do think of something that you have done let me know.i do have a plan but like all plain you have to do some changes every once in while.i do know you could build a engine with out sticking all that $$$ in it to make it solid and run strong.i mean 500 horse would be sweet but i think you guys are like me and have to drive the thing every day and to tell you the truth 460hp is plenty for stop and go traffic.you know what i mean.

mike, speaking of fuel system did you see my new set up.

hey jim ,good to see ya.i knew you would know alot people here:sweet

Would it be better to upgrade the studs with 47 lbs of boost? Seems like a quite a bit of stress on the stock studs. I am no expert, just curious..

he's got the good h-11 studs from bean i believe. Just FYI stock engines have head bolts, headstuds are actually a headless bolt you screw into the block then torque a nut down on them.

Terry- if your heads are gonna take a ton of $ to get them back into shape, you might call IH and price a set of heads from them. IIRC mine ran me under 800 + my old set of heads. I also think you'll be good to go with stock hg, thats what im doing too and bean has assured me countless times that it will hold.

Good to see ya over here Jim!

HI ALL....
I guess I too made it to the "other side"??????
Terry, I was wondering why I had not seen any post from you on the follow up so I am trying to catch up here.
The ppics you got of the engine with all the water in it, thats the used one you got your hands on? If it is.... Like JR said, gotta tear it down and clean up those cyls, even light hone and magnifine glass to see if there is any rust pist. they can be lined but not sure how reliable that would be for higher than stock HP specs.
Have you pulled a head off of yours yet?
You are not the first to have #4 give out a push rod/rocker.
If you have pulled that head, have you check the piston height over the deck (looking for bent rod)?
I was hoping to get to Cuba on Firday for the weekend and was going to yell at you, but looks like we are not going to make it now.
When we do, I will be sure and give you a shout.
Rick H...
