I have a sears also. I'm not real crazy about it but it does the job. Mine is cold blooded as all get out. Main complaint is not the trimmers fault. It takes a 40:1 mix. My echo takes a 50:1 same as the chainsaws I use.

Poullan (sp?) also uses a Honda engine. The rest is made by electrolux LOL no kidding.

Robert, You have to get them out of the shied and use them for them to wear out. I haven't found a Weed-Eater of any kind that I like so far.:roflmao

I just bought a Stihl FS250R, and all I can say is, WOW! This thing is un believable!! Definitely get a Stihl, you may not want one as big as the 250, but man, I can cut thru just about anything that's growing! I even bought the big saw blade attatchment, serious cutting power!!:sweet

Thanks y'all....

I found a dealer that handled just about all the good
ones...Stihl, Echo, Shindaiwa, RedMax they spoke highly of
the Stihl...they basically said at this level theyre all good...

he also was the ONLY dealer not selling at full retail...
shop seemed to know their stuff & kinda catered to the
professionals more than wank consumers (like me)

I wound up buying the the FS90r...already used it round the house
and garage...lots o torque...and you dont really have to wait
for the motor to get wound up.

this thing RIPS !

the 1/2 breed 4/2 cycle motor has an interesting sound...sounds like
my TWIN cyl moto guzzi motorcycle... once i get some synth. castor
in it itll smell like a race bike goin' 'round the track TOO !

thanks for the input y'all !

I've only started mine a couple of times. It's been sooo hot that unless I'm up at the crack of dawn to start the yard work, nothing gets done. One thing I don't like is the fact that the choke has three positions. Set the toggle on 1, then pull the cord five times; then move it to 2 and pull the cord again (then it starts); then move it to 3. I'm used to putting it on choke, (or pushing the primer button) and pulling the cord once to start it. I'll get used to it. I think it's gonna be okay. Plus my son also got the three year maintenance agreement with it too.

I bought an Echo this spring when my Homelite (Sears for $89) quit on me after 10+ years. The Echo works good, I just hope its half as good as my Homelite was.

I had an Echo stolen out of my truck early this season. So I shopped around and found I could save around $40 if I bought a Cub Cadet at Tractor Supply. Well, I bought it and as of yesterday Tractor Supply bought it back. I promptly went to Home Depot and bought the Echo I should have bought. The Cub had a horrible clutch engagement and the motor would burn my arm during use. So much for saving a buck.
