IF YOU HAVE loads of experience managing or assisting in managing in a retail parts and accessory store environment, this may be your chance. We sell "FUN" in a camping sort of way! We're looking for the right person to manage our parts and accessory store in our Ishpeming location.

Experience, computer savvy and the ability to serve customers with the highest standards a must.

Send Resume to:

HILLTOP RV SUPERSTORE
600 US 41 West
Ishpeming, MI 49849

My "boss" has to stop working full-time for health issues. Even though he has over 25 years with NAPA, and was officially our "parts manager", we pretty much worked as a team. I hope he can receive a new kidney and get his health back. If he is sucessful in that, I'm sure he will be back someday.

In the meantime, it looks like I'll have to break-in his replacement begining next Feburary or so.

Sounds like YOU would be perfect for the job Kent.

Yes, Bama is right. You need to be looking for your replacement. Dave

My departing boss is leaving behind some very big shoes to fill, like I said, 25 years of NAPA time. My "shoe size" in the retail biz is limited to less than 1 year with Car Quest and 2 seasons at my current job, not quite the same as 25 with NAPA. I think the owners are hoping to find someone with a similiar amount of experience. If they can't, who knows what sort of phone call I'll get during "winter vacation".

I'm not an ego-maniac and am more comfortable working quietly "behind they scenes". Real leadership is usually displayed through reliability, maturity, professionalism and the earned respect of your co-workers. It is through those means I usually get things done, not by having a sign on my door that says "the boss".

After all, I am a NCO, not an officer. ;tu

I once sold a life jacket to a drowning man. Think I would be qualified? I would like to relocate to a warmer climate.

UPDATE

After "holding down the fort" for several weeks after my boss got laid off, I began to convince myself "Ya know, I can do this!"

So I applied for my boss' old job, and got interviewed on Monday. I wasn't expecting an interview, I went down to the other store to help with their end of season inventory. Just after lunch, they pulled me into the office for an interview with the two owners.

Sometimes one can tell towards the end of the interview what the interviewers are thinking based on what they're asking or saying. Based on that, I'd be surprised if I got the job. But my employers were very, very concerned that I might leave if I didn't get the job, and if that were to happen it would be a "disaster" for the company. I told them that I wouldn't leave for that reason and that I'd stay and support a new manager to the same degree as my previous boss.

Apparently, I might not be the "captain" of the ship, but I'm definately the "anchor" that keeps the ship from getting dashed against the rocks.

sometimes the guy running the show isnt the one at the TOP !

I'd have asked 'em..."so what is it that prevents you from making me
the manager...and obviously you dont want me to leave, you recognize
my skills and experiance....and you apparently value that...so whats
their plan to "TRAIN" ME or give ME the experiance that makes 'em
COMFORTABLE enough to put ME in the TOP spot !?!

if they wanna keep you they should be willing to help you grow and
invest in YOU too !
