fly'n low on WVO
Ok, I put on a replacment hose for the orange turbo inlet today and took this picture just to see how things look. Can anyone tell me what is up with that one fin? The round thing on the blade below appears to be a trademark or something. But what about that big oily spot that looks like some of the fin has been removed??? If you look at it full size you see it looks to be something more than just oil on the blade. it looks like part of the blade is gone.
I am not an expert, but I deal with aircraft turbo's, basiclly the same just bigger. I would like to look at a bigger picture to get a closer look. But what I see is a damaged blade, and some errosion on the other blades.
I think your getting junk in your intake before the turbo. Find the problem before you replace the wheel or you might be doing it again later.
I does look like a 99-03 blade, but I just put a rebuilt turbo on my '96 got it from International and started arguing with them that it had the wrong compressor wheel. They said it was the one, take it or leave it... It looks like when we change a turbo we loose the good wheel.
