TS performance said:
The TS Performance Torque Converter Lock-UP allows you to lock and un-lock your torque converter at the speed of your choice. Most factory converters lock up at high speeds, and un-lock when off the throttle. This can cause increased temperatures due to friction between the converter and flywheel. It will also inhibit vehicle performance and fuel economy lock at high speeds.

The converter can work in conjunction with an exhaust brake to help slow the engine speeds instead of relying completely on the brakes to slow the truck. By programming the converter to un-lock at a low speed it will help to stop the truck.

By allowing the operator to choose the speed the converter locks and un-locks results in:

* Reduce operating temperatures of the transmission and torque converter
* Reduce overheating and wear of brakes.
* Improved acceleration
* Programmable locking speed
* Programmable un-locking speed
* Improved Fuel Economy

IMO no it is not worth it a good chip will take care of the lockup issues and the lock/unlock was fixed with the SD trucks... next time you're going down the highway take your foot off the fuel completely, do not touch the brakes, watch your tach does it drop to idle or stay in relation to speed...

If you want to keep it locked up then a manual lockup switch is much cheaper than the $360 for that controller.

My converter stays locks even when I hit the brakes and stays locked til about 1000 rpm weather the over drive is off or on. The problem is the converter won't lock driving around town if driving under 40 mph or with the over drive on under 50mph but . But I will give that a try. Thank you

if your engine is below 1300 rpm you do not have enough flow & pressure in the trans for converter locking. Your lockups can be lowered with a good well programmed chip.
