Not to be sarcastic, even though it's one of my better talents...

I think you're safe on this one... what you've experienced is certainly aby-normal

Although it's probably an easy fix in the tranny.

yes it is under warrenty and it is in the shop but I still want to know for my self that way when the dealer says nothing is wrong I can tell them bull----.

ONE critical bit of info that you need to have, to trouble shoot,
are the codes <im starting to sound like a broken record i know>...

problem is the dealers gonna clear those codes...fixed or not when
they give the truck back to you.

were pretty close...if you get the truck back and still have problems,
ill be happy to check for codes and run diagnostics w/ my LAPTOP...you buy the beverage.

Just caught this on a Powerstroke bulletin maybe it will help....Good Luck

2005 Stall When Engaging Drive or Reverse, or at Stops, TorqShift Only:
Trucks built between 10-1 and 11-30-04 may exhibit a stall under the above conditions, along with various shift solenoid codes. This may be due to a sticking torque converter control solenoid. The transmission pan should be cleaned out, the TCC solenoid (3C3Z-7J136-BA) and external fluid filter replaced, and the cooler flushed and flow checked. TSB 05-12-1.
NOTE: These conditions may occur on vehicles outside of the build dates above. However, the same repair applies, although the solenoid part number may be different.

OUCH ! sounds like theyre looking for <or expecting> METAL.

The '04s had a reverse planetary <retaining clip> issue..and
when repaired the dealers werent replacing the trans cooler...
which was apparently a good place for capturing metal...and when
the new tranny was replaced it FAILED TOO...until they
replaced the cooler AND flushed the LINES

I know you think I am dumb but if the torque converter stuck engaged wouldn't the truck want to stay moving like the motor is coupled to the rearend. I have not had any signs like that, everything seems normal except it just dies, no jerk, pop, or crackel. I know if I don't disengage my lockup torque converter on the racecar I cant get that B----- to stop.

ok you want the answer to the problem, The problem was a bracket was missing from a flexable tube on the high pressure oil pump and when the truck warmed up it was not getting enough pressure for the injectors to work.
