Has anyone had this problem or an idea what is causing it?
When the transmission goes to shift up or down a gear it sounds like it is racing and makes enough noise to make Tater (copilot) ask whats happening. It does not do it all the time and it does it when I am pulling the trailer (30' fifthwheel) or driving down a street in town. Ford garage said it was a leaky seal and trans was sucking air into it and causing the problem. After they worked on it every thing was ok until we started to California last month. About 75 miles from home it started doing it again and continued off & on for 3500 miles. Ford garage says they cannot find anything wrong and of course the dadgum thing won't do it for them. Sorry for being so windy but wth only 15000 miles on the truck I either get it fixed or wait until I am out in the middle of Egypt.

It should have some codes stored up to tell you what the problem is. You NEED a scanner or to get it scanned. You will be lost without getting a reading on this.

Sorry, Scruffy, but I don't have a follow-up act. Someone may post their ideas on what may be wrong.
