Well I finally finished it sorta,

I had to go to a company dinner tonight for my wife so I had a stall. All went well and I replaced the filter and inline filter (by the way the filter was 24 and the inline was 34). I couldn't believe the inline was that much. I have a feeling I was ripped off but I didn't have time to look around. I know the pan filter was 15 cheaper than the dealer though at NAPA.

Ok back to the main topic I guess. So I finally installed my extra tranny cooler (3 should be plenty :sly ) and got the pan back on (minus one bolt...I can not find it anywhere in the garage...I will have to look tomorrow. But that transmission line was a killer. I bought a brake line tool and a pipe cutter and stripped off the very end. Unfortunatly the factory length is th minimum length. Luckily I had some 5/16 hose left over from another project just the right lenght and I cut out a 6" section then made myself a new fitting (I had to bend it carefully as I don't have the tool and I needed a very tight bend due to my exhaust) and then connected the hose to fill in the gap. I took it for a short test drive tonight and all seemed well. I never got up to full speed though. I have a small crease in the line where I bent it as I needed it really tight but it doesn't look to be bad enough to hurt anything or really slow the flow down.

I need to find a way to get that exhaust over even more but for now I will see how it performs as I have about 1/4" gap now where I had none before.

Also I probably have about 1-2 QT to much tranny fluid. Should I drain it out????

Also what is the deal with Ford not installing drain plugs. No drain plug in the tranny pan, and when I took of the cover to drain the Torque Converter there was no plug. I rotated it around a few times with the starter but no luck. I didn't have the stuff or the time to fully flush the system so i will haev to save that for later. But I'm a bit dissapointed I didn't have more time as I bet I still had a good 4 Qts in there.

I have a picture of the Magnet in the pan (is that stock???) It looks mostly like it is friction band material that is on it. There was only 4 or 5 small chunks of metal in the bottom of the pan after very careful examination and upon cleaning. They were smaller than the head of a pen though so I wasn't to worried. I'm guessing that a good coating of that friction material should be expected esp considering the long drain interval (at least 40+Plus)....I know I know I'm not worthy :hail

My stock TC in my 95 had a drain plug in it, the pan did not but for about 7.95 @ autozone you can get a plug kit to install.

The magnet is stock in the E4 pan, here is what mine looked like after a yearly fluid change.

Ok Good,

I will not post my picture then as it looked just like that.

I wonder if it is a possibility that I just happened to turn the converter just past it each time. I don't think it is but it might be a possibility. Anyone out there with a 97 know wheather or not they have a drain plug in their TC?

Also does anyone think a small crease in my tranny return line is going to be a problem? I'm going to take it out for a better test drive this morning.

And last but not least how much extra oil is to much oil? I think I have about 1-2QTs to much in there.
