It is really wierd....this whole truck thing....It doesn't matter who you talk to about reliability, power performance, looks, yada, yada, yada....we all know that opinions are like aholes and everyone has one. The more I drive the Ford the More I question the decision, the more I question the decision, I remind myself as to the reason for the switch in the first place. In time, with a little tweak here and there, I'm sure the new PSD will out perform, outwit and outlast the Dudge.(Sounds like an episode of survivor WTH???)

'Limp mode, not performing like the old Dudge.' You asked a question man.

You know these kind of forums are fine places to learn, share experiences and opinions. You were very honest in saying that it just wasn't the same and not moving you like the Dodge.
I would never wish a break down on any soul and I thought I was being fair and truthful to you in my experiences. I didn't say you shouldn't have done it or you made a mistake.
I love Powerstrokes. I've had 4 7.3's and 2 of the 2004 6.0's so I think I can share an 'opinion' on them. I hope I didn't day that they are were trash or anything like that. I'm simply sharing my Ahole about the questions you asked.
All I ask, if I may, is stay in touch and continue to share your honest results.

I think you misunderstood what I was getting at. I was not trying to indicate that your opinion was not important or that you were trying to slam what I was saying. Rather, I was trying to portray the fact that there are very few people that have the same experiences as the other.....Like aholes.....all perform the same function but are just slightly different from one another. Each persons experience is also slightly different. I do agree that these pages are a great resource and there are many people on here with a wealth of knowledge and I apreciate all the knowledge that I have gained from the site since I became a member.

Again New2CTD, thanks for your opinion. If I can offer any advise on the dodge ....If you are still running the stock intake....keep a very close eye on the air filter, do not count on the filter minder to let you know when to change it, fuel filter elements should be inspected for defects prior to installation or you will have a catastrophic fuel system failure. Good luck with the Dodge:sweet

I would like to take you up on this offer. My filter minder sucks closed on the first day when a new filter is put in. I do have the 'swiss cheese' box. But it did this prior to that also.

I am going to try the BHAF this winter with this replacement hose http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/air1

I use to work for a guy who had Dodges with the cummins pulling bobcats, the motors are great, the transmissions sucked!...Need less to say he went to all Fords! F-250 servicetrucks on up to 550's...Not one complaint he even has an 03 F-350 with 136kon it...and it has only had general maintenance done to it...It is all personal preference...I know in my family it will never be anyhting but the Ford oval...It is all personal opinion..Congrats on the new truck you will love it, give it some time!

They are all JUNK>>>

IMHO...product is based on construction date, added mock world tested engineering, local service manager. These can all add to an unpleasent experience with any vehicle from the Lincoln Navigator, BMW, Lexus, Ford, Dodge and GM. I really have no preference.

Add to it individual mods, maintenance schedule, and driving habits.............

Some brands just seem to have more than the others.....Hence the Lemon Law....it was inacted for a reason.

All I can do is wish you the best of luck with your Dodge and hope that you never have a major warranty claims, be prepared for a fight!!!!

Best thing I can say is try to befriend somebody that works at the dealership. I have had many friends have problems with their trucks and take them in to the dealership and have problems trying to get the work under warranty. Go beyond the Repair idiots and move to sales men. It the can help you and some how get your business back or have your friends business they will do just about anything for you, include making you happy in anyway. But to try and say that Ford warranty is better than Chevy or Dodge can't say it on depends on the Dealership and the mood of your mechanic. Good Luck

It's quite the opposite, the Dodge warranty was better, at least until Ford realized that they needed to up theirs to keep their market share. It was the number of issues that cropped up in the 2004 model, dusting, cylinder wash, injection system issues, lift pumps, etc. that were still hapening in the 05 and 06 models that drove me away from the Dodge. Yes they all have their issues, but since Ford had the catastrophic experience with the first 6.0's they seem to have minimized or at leats engineered out some of the major issues.:dunno
