Well, Im going with Ford after being messed with by the local Dodge boys. They will do anything to get out of warranty repairs, yet they still continue to send me new truck info every month!

Got a new rig

Just picked up my 2007 F-350 Superduty FX4 PSD two days ago and just sold my Dodge Ram CTD today. I was wondering if the PSD has a limp mode break in period because it sure doesn't perform like the old Cummins used to could. My wife says I will miss the 04 Ram. The other thing I have noticed is that the SD doesn't handle near as well as the Ram...All in all, the one thing I won't mis is the DODGE: 1 : an act of evading by sudden bodily movement, 2 a : an artful device to evade, deceive, or trick

Not really. They both ride about the same. Your aftermarket springs or shocks will change it more than the difference. Go drive one of each.

These things have a certian break in period before the beast is unleashed? I've got about 1700 miles on it so far and it doesn't seem to pull near as hard as the 04 Dodge?

It won't pull worth a darn with those big tires on it. You have raised your rear end ratio by using the big meats.

So if I was to go down to 15" rim with stock 1/2 ton tires I'll be able to roast the skins off, but it won't go through the mud worth a darn. What are my options to gain more power? Is there anything available for the '07 yet? I have a friend that switched from an Edge with Attitude to a Bully Dog and he will sell me the Edge for half price of new but its for an '06.

I was thinking a drop in high flow filter (don't know if a cold air intake would void my warranty) and maybe a 4" MBRP or Magna flow exhaust? Still doing research to figure out which sounds better.:sweet

Start with an exhaust system and AFE intake system. Get guages to keep an eye on things before you do ANYTHING to your truck. If you don't, you stand a chance of cooking something and not even knowing it until it is too late.

Kusto, once again the wife is right. You will miss it because things will never be the same. I am not biased, I am a Ford man but I run a fleet and changed to Dodge in 04 to run from the 6.0
I still have my 03 7.3 4x4 but I will probably never go back to another Ford. This is not because of some percieved engine issues, that does happen to all lines.
What you are seeing is the Ford simply does not perform like the Dodge does.
Sure the cab is bigger, save for Mega cab now; I love the Ford body style and interior but at some point you have to set aside looks and go with performance. Dodge Cummins just plain out performs the Ford Navistar and looks just as nice in the Dually format.
2 years ago I would have died at the thought of this. But I just feared the unknown.
I pull backhoes, dozers and cattle daily with the 04 Dually and it simply cannot be compared to a Ford. Some say the Ford is the bosses truck and Dodge is the workers truck. I'm the boss and Ford just can't cut it for performance or a work truck.
