Tesla coil?

Has anyone here ever built a Tesla coil? I've been thinking about building one for my Physics II project this semester, but I'm curious if anyone else thinks this is a viable project that (1) can be built sometime this semester and (2) can be built without costing a wheelbarrow of dollars. I do realize that they're ever-so-slightly dangerous but so is most stuff that's truly fun...

Have you ever read up on Nikola Tesla, we did in one elctricity class i took, that guy was a pure genius, far ahead of his time, pretty interesting
