Turns out dude had one with the correct code and is willing to trade me straight up for mine:) Gonna make sure it work in my truck then possibly send it off to Jody if I don't notice any difference before I ship mine to him:)

Good Deal!
I knew Jody would be able to steer you in the right direction. I saw on another forum some info about the later VDH5 not being compatible for the early 99.
I should have my PMT2 by next week.I'm anxious to see how much difference it will make.
Keep me posted on your success with the swap!

I performed the swap tonight...unfortunately it was >30* out and I was not dressed for the occasion, but anywho...Only got it installed and started to see if it works and it did. Going to drive it tomorrow for the first time in 40k miles with stock programming to see if some bucking issues go away with the SCMT taken off. After about a 30 minute drive I'm going to put the SCMT back on (for fuel mileage) and pull chocks for a 14 hour trip to FL..yay... I'll keep y'all posted on the differences.

I swapped my XLE4 PCM out with a PMT1 that Jody flashed with an enhanced stock tune for Big oil and single shot injectors. It made a tremendous difference in how the truck drives. It has more power and shifts better. I like the new trans tuning he has as well.

Well my first impression was of driving a stock truck...had to dive half-throttle just to get the truck to move lol, and it only made 22# vs 28# with the SCMT. It held a gear and didn't lock up in the high rpm's as it should and shifted and locked up when part-throttle like it should instead of bass ackwards like it used to be. I then installed the tow-performance tune on it and pulled a trailer home...big difference. It didn't want to kick out of OD or unlock the converter in OD when going up a hill. Going to drive it unloaded tomorrow with the high-performance tune on and then I'll really be able to tell a difference:)
Talking to Jody about a flip-chip with the 80 econo and 140 aggressive race:)

PMT3

Orion,
The pcm I got was supposed to be a PMT2, as it turns out it's a PMT3, Jody says it will work just as well.
Also it looks as if it's had a chip in it, plug is gone and contacts are cleaned.
Anyway I finally got a chance to plug it in and, even stock, the shifting is like you said, MUCH better and now my "cruise" light works too!
I'm gonna pull it back out and send it to DP after Xmas, can't wait!!

Got to drive it unloaded...feels much better at WOT....but I don't like how it shifts into OD and locks up at the same time...might be the SCMT doing that though. Overall A+, now to buy the chip from Jody!
