Sorry to start a whole new thread to ask this but, does the 99+ have a CAT on it?

I live in a county that has Emissions & Inspection and I want to know what exhaust systems I can and can't buy.

My 2K, 7.3 doesn't have a Cat and didn't come with one when I bought it New, here in California.

On mine, under the front lip of the hood, there's a sticker/label saying: Non-Catalyst... and all the EPA/CARB verbage about it being Complyant with all the Regs for the model Year..... Bla, Bla, Bla.

Check under your hood ??

The early 99's had a cat. But the 99.5's and on did not.

Since you indicate that your truck is a late build or 99.5, you have nothing to worry about.
Even if it were an early 99, unless an emissions inspector is savy to know that info and know how to tell the difference on a truck that is at least 9 years old, there still would not be much to worry about.

There was not any under hood label on my early 99 indicating that it was supposed to have a cat.

double check and see if you're required to test your diesel. Often the diesel tests are as simple as an opacity test.

My truck is a 02 so I guess it doesn't have a CAT. Thanks for the info guys!

look under the hood..
catalyst trucks are supposed to say CATALYST on the emissions decal

Kent, there was a recall on the early '99's for having the wrong sticker on them... I'm sure because cat rules for then would have been 5/50, the recall has been cancelled by now..

but I'm sure that new DuraMax don't care..

I can't find a sticker for my emissions under my hood. All I have is a sticker for the anti-freeze and one for the belt.

Specs

Heres another stupid question for you guys.

Is there anywhere I can go to get the specs for my truck? (curb weight, drag coefficient, ect..) I'm just curious about my truck and I haven't been able to find anything on these trucks.
