I had a similar issue with my truck. Turned out to be that three of the TC bolts had backed out. Even with Locktite(blue). They have red on them now.

Put a wrench on them and tightened the pi** out of them but going to try and back them out and put them back in.

Ok made it home safe from Florida. Sun Coast went threw the transmission dropped the pan, checked the fluid, check the fly wheel and checked the internals of the tranny. Said it was a good looking tranny no problems that they could said it was one of the cleanest they had seen at that mileage. We got in a pretty heated argument because the mechanic said that the T-case doesn't move and is not suppost to move. He said that he drove the truck around and couldn't feel any vibration.

So I was polite and told them thank you for all the help that they had done for me and giving me that peace of mind. I pulled out of the parking lot and not 20 ft down the street the vibration came back. Backed up really quick and had the mechanic come out and feel it so that I new I was not crazy. He did then tell me yes there is a vibration but he doesn't understand why.

I told him that I was headed back to house and I was going to run the pi** out of the truck and if it breaks I will be calling and ordering a new tranny. LOL

So on the way home running down the freeway at 70 mph I am running a good 200' on the tranny temp. I pull into The Pilot after running for 480+ miles get fuel there is a little vibration but not much. So get back on the freeway and now run another 240+ miles with the tranny temp at between 140 and 170 but closer to 140. What gives makes no sense at all to me. Thinking now that the sending until is bad.

Are there bearings in the T-case? I think I am going to change the fluid in that this weekend and see if any chunks or pieces of metal come out. That is what I am starting to think now. If I do change it what fluid would ya'll recommend me putting back in. Really liking synthetic. Thanks for the help.

Are these TC bolts accessible from under the truck or do you have to pull the tranny? I still have a vibration that I havent been able to find and have ruled out drive line and transfer case. Maybe I need to do this?:dunno

Pep Boys carries some of the common stuff. A good Parts House can get any of the Red Line products from their Distributors. There's a Dealer Search on their Web Site also.

Red Line stuff is a bit pricey... Be ready for that. But that's where the o'l : You Git What You Payed For.. comes in..

FWIW ? I run their D6 ATF in my 6 spd and their syn 75/140 in the Dif.

Ok I had a brain fart there...TC i was thinking of was torque converter! Transfer case makes sense!

As far as lube goes...75W90 in the front, 75W140 in the rear, and ATF in the transfer case. I went with royal purple. any fully synthetic will work but I know the purp is good!

.75W90 in the front, 75W140 in the rear,

:eek::eek::eek:

O'crap. Just realized last night when I got home I was looking at the purple that I have in the garage and I thought I picked up 75w140 but it was 75w90 that I put in the rear. Looks like one other thing I'll be redoing this weekend. What is the easiest way to get the fluid out. Probably pull the pan again huh?
