If your batteries were replaced in 2006, you might need new ones. Over three years is questionable. If they are not tip top shape they will not spin the engine fast enough to start it right off. Starters usually drop dead rather than slowly die.

I have checked and cleaned all the cables the only one that looks bad is the starter end.

Not sure what u have for batteries now but if ur buying new ones i highly recommend Motorcraft. U will get an easy 5-7 years of life out of them and their not much more money - My .02

I'd say 3 to 6 revs to start is normal and okay, for a 7 years old 7.3 :dunno

Load Testing each battery might be worth it, for piece of mind, but as long as it cranks over strong.. and starts every time.. 3 to 6 turns ? yer Good To Go. No Worries

Joe

* On Edit ?

Seems I usta start.... on 1 cupa Coffee.. Nowadayz it takes 2, maybe 3. Time & Miles maybe ? .;):)

Make sure the oils level is full, and check the fuel flilter as well. If the oil is low, it won't fire the injectors, and we all know what a partially plugged fuel filter will do. Always start with the cheapest and easiest first i always say. Good luck
