Be aware that sometimes trash in the fuel tank can get sucked up against the fuel pick-up screen and restrict flow. Hard to prove that without draining the tank though.

With the filter out and an empty bowl, how fast does the upper fuel filter bowl fill up?

You don't want to see any air bubbles as it fills up.

Have you installed the upgraded fuel pressure regulator spring? If not, you should.

Ultimately, you need to know fuel pressure. Fuel pressure above 45 psig protects expensive injectors.

To rule out other things, you need a scan tool that reads codes and retrieves PCM data (PIDs).

ForScan Lite on a smartphone is a very quality tool for a low investment cost. Other scan tools do not retrieve codes as well as ForScan.

I can help more once you scan for codes and have a tool to pull cranking engine data.

Thanks for the advice. I will look into it all step by step. With the small bowl lid off I watched it fill. It took a bit for fuel to get there, but once the bubbles and foam from air cleared it filled in about a second or 2 and overflowed.

I am also wondering if I had more than one issue. I am wondering about the neutral safety switch. There have been times when I have put it in drive and I have had to ouch down a little further to to put it in drive because it was still neutral.

When it wouldn't start at the carwash that first day. I had gotten frustrated, shift to neutral and pack inti park, then held the shift lever up tight while cranking it. That is when it spun up and finally started. When I out it into drive I had to adjust the shift lever again because it acted like it was not quite in drive again. I am going to try that again this morning. It is only 5:45am here in Reno. I will also try to start in Neutral if that does not work.

I am hoping I just have a coincidental double issue not related to each other. Is there another way to bypass the neural safety switch? I know aome cars have a bypass to get you moving until it is repaired.

I am really stressing about this with winter coming and that is my 4x4 for bad weather. Cant afford huge repairs that I cannot so myself on a teachers salary.

Ok. Batteries 100%, oil level full. Checked small bowl on top and turned key on. The bowl filled right ti the top in about a second with no bubbles.

It is in the mid 30's here and figured I would try starting it when cold out and sitting all night. I read that cold thick oil if it is the oil pumps that helps create more pressure that it might start.

The ForScan will arrive tomorrow and I will see what it has to say. I guess I just need to know what numbers for what things I should be looking out for.

I appreciate the help. Trying to keep my stress under control.

I went ahead and ordered the Blue Spring Kit just in case and it cannot hurt for $25. I will just keep trying to narrow it down.

Regarding the Neutral Safety Switch - What you have is actually a Transmission Range Sensor, so it isn't a simple switch.

Sometimes they fail and you will get a no-start. I do not know of a simple way to bypass that sensor. It isn't just applying voltage to the signal return circuit.

I guess, just wait to see what ForScan will do. The laptop version is VERY good.

Perfect. Sounds great. I will get to it when the scan tool arrives and check it out. Thank you.

Truck will not run if low oil pressure, but you should see in on the oil pressure gauge - especially at idle - will go to zero and check gauge light should come on.

I had my high pressure oil pump fail (check ball on side came out) so it was just dumping oil back to the engine, but it still ran (very low power), but at idle oil pressure went to zero and truck died. If oil pressure cant build engine will not start.

Good luck

MY 04 6.0 KR dually is for sale BTW 109000 miles, bullet proofed too.

FORScan arrived today. U have to register it and download the software. Once they approve the registration with a number I will scan the truck. Anything in particular besides the fuel pressure and oil pressure?

Although when it was running pul pressure seemed normal all of the time and it never used a drop. Full when I would change it and full during the next oil change.

Thanks Yoda. Oil pressure was always good when running and it never has ever used a drip if oil. Always full when I did the next oil change.
