man either HushMat has taken a SERIOUS jump in price or
your source is rippin' folks off ! Theres no way ive got 400 bucks
in mine TOTAL.

brownbread/bquiet was the stuff that i initially tried to buy...but
the SHIPPING on this stuff (heavy, odd shaped, rolls) will KILL YOUR
WALLET.

The prices I pulled up are off the hushmat website. Yeah, shipping on the stuff is counter productive. You are trying to add weight to the panels.

I remember some of the cummins guys back in the day were rolling lead sheets out into the floorboard of their trucks to get some of their sanity back.

Has anybody installed material under the headliner?

i have...and i did it in the DEAD of summer ! (i bet i lost 20lbs...couldnt
tell now though ;)

the headliner is cloth & foam on FIBERGLASS...if you own a super-cab
then you can pull the headliner out the doors...if you own a crew-cab
(like i do) the headliner is installed thru the rear window @ the factory.

im TOLD you can fold the headliner and pull it out the door...but i didnt,
and i wasnt willing to risk having a fold or crease in the headliner.

i dropped my headliner and shifted it forward/rear/side to side to install
sheet (after sheet) of hushmat...i THINK its done well at reducing
the noise and cutting down on the heat !

it took me a few hours to drop the headliner, install the hush mat &
re-install the headliner...i could probably do it pretty quickly (2 or so
hours, start to finish) now that i know what im doin'...pretty much
like anything else...the 1st time is the most difficult !
