I had to go get a new fuel filter for our John Deere yesterday and when I got out of the truck, I notice this engine in a O-radius mower and it looked like it was CAT yellow.

Sure enough, it was a 3 cylinder CAT diesel engine in a Bad Boy Lawn Mower.

I had never heard of them.

I did not know that Perkins supplied motors to CAT. If you look at the fuel lines, you will see metal bridges between the injector lines. That is a CAT trait. I have seen that a lot on bigger equipment.

That's a Cat from Perkins from Shibaura
I wonder if it has 3 coats of paint :lmao

They are pretty decent engines, New Holland used them in their skid steers for years. The engine in my RV genset (in the work trailer) has one too.

Looks like a small version of a old Cat RD6/D6 motor. Looks like someone is after the kabota motor market.
