So it's really not a genuine CAT engine?

Genuine Bama ? Probably not: Cat enters into a marketing agreement with X, assigns a few Patented, CAT specs~parts to it.. Paints it CAT Yellow.. and callz it a CAT product.

Looks like a small version of a old Cat RD6/D6 motor. Looks like someone is after the kabota motor market.

It's called Competitive Diversification, I think ? (Git a little bit of every market thats in yer line of products ?)

ALL the Major makers of anything... do that now'a dayz, sad part is.... it's mostly all, Off Shore :(

I have seen the kabota motors in a mess of thing from thermo-king trailer, to pony pack on the side of 18 wheelers and small generators and water pumps.

That could be/probably is.. why Cat would like a piece of that.. small utility, aux diesel engine.. Action (?).. and came up with the 3 cylinder Bama posted about here ?

I actually did a warranty claim on one of these BAD BOY mowers last month, (yes I am a cat tech) here in Canada we call them perkapillars, LOL Perkins supplied engines for all cat skid steers and mini excavators up until about two/three years ago. now it is Mitsubishi engines in the small engines for them. reliable went up 1000%. Perkins still builds mid sized engines from 4liters to about 10liters. mostly small loaders and dozers.

I guess that in some way this is similar to the old PowerStroke engines (6.0 and older). Navistar built them and put PowerStroke information on them for Ford. Of course, I'm sure they were supposed to be built to Ford's standards.

keep in mind that cat dropped all on road engines recently and so they need to diversify their market within off-road engines to keep the same $$'s coming in.
