I'm new here and just bought a 2005 f350 with the 6.0, and was wondering if dual exhaust would increase the mpg more than the single, and if so how much? Also was wondering if removing the cat would void the extended warranty? How much mpg can you expect putting on exhaust either dual or single? Thanks, Any help would be appreciated.

When I did my exhuast on my 97, just taking the muffler out and putting straight pipe in increased around 2mpg. As far as duals or single it is just a preference. The exhuast still comes out the same one downpipe then splits. Just get a good 4 or 5" exhuast and you will be good. I would think that removing the cat would void the warranty. Dont know though.

What he said. It's all the same exhaust, the duals just split right before the rear axle. 4" is all you need unless you plan on serious power (twins). Plus 5" is super loud. The cat thing depends on the dealer. Mine's been gone for a long time and the dealer never said anything. Others will try to void your warranty for putting after market windshield wipers. :roflmao

Alaska... and headed back to Wisconsin!
I haven't put my new exhaust on yet... matter a fact it hasn't even showed up yet! I went with the 4" ss Bully Dog. I'm going to put it all together with the kitty in. then pull it out and make a test pipe. It will have a nice resting place in the shed!

I'll second that... I've barely got enough pipe to have it clear the body in front of the rear tire, no MPG gain, lost some effectiveness on the tow haul mode hold back on hills, and gained a lot of sound. Kinda annoying at times on the highway, at about 2000-2200 rpm, but the sound at idle really makes people look twice. They no longer call it my truck, but my jet.

I have no cat, or muffler, just a side dump in front of the passenger tire. One note, if you decide to do something like that, point it out, not down, I have about a 30 degree angle on it, and it soots the heck out of the tire and rim... makes brake dust look like childs play.
