A little trick I found out, when I replaced my tensioner assy., is that when you pull on the ratchet to release the tension...there is a little spring-loaded clip on the bottom side of the assembly. When you get the ratchet pulled back, flip the clip up (hold it there) and ease the ratchet back in. The clip holds the tension off so that way you don't have to throw the belt off a pulley and you can work with both hands.

Yes, I have a stock TC, but I really dont think thats issue here given that my temps are well within normal range and I've got nice firm shifts. It just sounds driveline related but I need to test all of the pulleys etc.

For sure check out the pulleys first, its eaiser and cheaper. But I still wouldn't rule out the tc. I started noticing a hum from the driveline at a certain rpm (like you said), but it would shift fine. I noticed this RIGHT AFTER I pulled my 5th wheel the first time. 2 months later, I start getting shift errors and I ended up rebuilding the transmission with a BD torque converter and shift kit.

didt get to check any of the pulleys etc, but did look at them and tug on the belt..everything seems to be fine.

Did however drive it more...i get the vibration when ive got a load on it, and id say its when its above 2500 rpm. not as noticeable in 1st gear, but i did get it revved up to 2500+ in 1st and it started to shudder as i got up to that rpm, but pretty much quit once i leveled out there. more noticeable in 2nd gear, probably cause thats when theres more of a load on everything. In thrid, a bit less, and when in OD (mind you im at around 90+mph) i cant really tell if its there or not.

The recurring them im seeing is that it seems to vibrate/shudder when im putting a load on it...which is accellerating.

Any other thoughts? My shifts are still firm, and theres no gear hunting i can tell at all.

Other than the tc....something in the transmission. But it is happening in every gear (when torque is being applied). Just really sounds like a tc going out. Does the noise stop as soon as you let out of the accelerator?
