I had a strange thing happen today, my truck felt like it was missing and the SES light would come on when I tried to accelerate. The light would go off if I let off the pedal. It did it for a minute or so, then right back to normal. Any ideas?

truck is stock. I have done the CPR fuel system from Dieselsite, and the tymar type air filter, but I wouldn't think that would cause the problem.

you can only pull the code when the light is on, isn't that correct? The light went out if I stopped accelerating, so unless it happens again and I have a code reader plugged in.....which will never happen btw.

Feel free to spout out some ideas. At least then I have somewhere to start.:burnit

You can pull the codes any time... Just plug the reader in and go... I would guess a CPS or a Pedal issue

what about fuel filter? if a fuel filter was clogging, would a decreased flow set off a code? Just a thought, I'm gonna get some filters (air & fuel) tommorrow.......

well, now the SES light is on all the time now. And the engine still seems to run rough. It is putting out a lot more smoke, but I don't know what color because I was driving it at night. Any ideas? I don't have any.....

Since the SES light is on, have the codes read to eliminate guessing. It could be a number of things.
