I am going to do that, but I was hoping someone else has had a similar problem. I drive it 45 miles each way to work and don't really have time to mess with getting it to a shop, but I am gonna have to.

If anyone has any ideas I can check in the dark, fire them out. Got a long drive with a sick truck.....I'm hoping it is something simple and dumb.....

Just went outside and started it up. It ran fine, no SES light either. It had sat for about an hour since driving. Gonna have whatever codes read tommorrow, if nobody has any ideas, I will post whatever I find out, so when this happens to someone else.....we will all look like geniuses!!!!

If your fuel filter clogs all the way up, I think it will bypass and you would still get fuel. Some correct me if I'm wrong. Pull the codes to see what it is. It could be anything.

Get the codes read, like they said, but I'm gonna put some e-money down on UVC clips or a "gettin ready to fail" CPS.

Let us know what you find out whent eh codes read....

The code I got was for the IDM. So, in doing some searching, it could be a loose wire, or a frayed wire possibly under the valve cover. Obviously, I know where to look under the valve cover, but the loose wire to the IDM I am a little lost. Can anyone lead me there?

Only way to find out for sure would be to run a cylnder contribution test with a scan tool like AutoEnginuity to find out what codes are stored in the IDM.

It is likely the harnesses under the valve covers like has already been posted about. The VC gaskets are reusable. Look for loose or burnt harness/ wires. There are also clips for the harnesses to keep them tight, I haven't done them or been under the VC's so someone else that has been can elaborate more.

alright....the verdict is......the valve cover gasket where the plug goes thru it was going bad. Replace VC gasket.....good as new.
