well, dealer just called.
1. rear main oil leak, wanted o.k. to fix, they dyed motor
2. no codes present, compression all fine
3. according to their lie-o-meter while plugged in on test drive at 55 mph w/the wind, getting 22.7 mpg and against the wind 17.9 mpg.
4. automatically did the current recall,
i specifically left a message against doing so until other issues were fixed and i had a chance to drive it, that i would make an appt. to do so.
now for the contradictions: told by ser. mgr. that codes automatically delete from the system after so many key strokes. T/F can anyone weigh in on this matter?
i told him that the degas bottle tested positive for an exhaust leak, he says no leaks were found that the compression was normal, and that they do not have the capability to perform such a sniff test of the degas bottle.-mad says that all is fine, no other tests will be preformed. i asked about the leaking injectors, glow plugs, and exhaust (soot) marks on block, he says all is fine no issues. correct me if i am wrong, but isn't visible soot on the block next to the factory headers a sign of trouble? when something is leaking, fluid is present and sand, dirt, road grim collect on said fluid leak, as in the case of certain injectors/glow plugs that that is an indication of a leak? i am very frusterated at this point and all of my research and inform. found on this site - they are contradicting. what to do, i think my next call is to DETROIT. looking for a little input and brotherly love..
i will report back tomorrow after his supposed next phone call...
