Sad Day for Horse Racing

Barbaro was put down this morning after his long battle with laminitis and other complications resulting from his broken leg in the Preakness Stakes. He had battled on for many months and through many procedures, but the abscess in his rear right hoof finally proved too much. He was euthanized this morning.

It truely is a sad day. I just saw the live conference with the surgeon and the owners. He was a fighter. My condolences go the his owners. Keith

its still hard for me to imagine that an animal that size has a hard time getting over a broken leg. of course, idont much about horses and stuff like that.

i guess an animall of that size cant kick back in a recliner and let time heal the leg.

im sure it was hard for the owners to have to do that, but at the same time, im sure it was hard to watch the horse suffer.
