I washed my 05 X today and I can't believe that my factory chrome running boards are rusting and looks like the chrome is running thin ( kind of a brassy look chrome gets when old and worn) plus right around my rear license plate lights the paint on the bumper is bubbled for at least a 1/2" around both of them. The sucky part is I have no warrenty left with 45k on it and I will only have it 2 yrs on the March 20th. Bought new:cussing:

Dang - That salt and chemical cocktail in the winter must do a number on it !!!

Hate to hear it but take care of it now before the cancer spreads !!!

My 05 Ex had rust too,
but it was self-induced from when I totaled that Chevy pickup and dented my bumper

I thought I was doing a good job of washing it as soon as weather permited after a snow storm but I guess not. THey are bad enough that I will be looking for new running boards cause I hate to have it looking so bad for summer-popcorn

Holy Christ, I checked on buying new running boards and they are $600+ each. Heck for that I may just go with the power ones. THey are cheaper and cooler if they infact still work after next winter.
