Yes they Dip in Oregon, I have been checked Twice in the Portland area and once in washington. They will not accept any excuses, if its red, get ready to pay a BIG fine!!!

must be a city thing. if you're not in a big city i wouldn't worry about it.

Watch at the horse shows... They dip regularly there, is it really worth it? Its not that much cheaper and if you get hit, it will kill your pocket book!

do they even check it anywhere in oregon? never heard of "dipping" by a cop or anything. many people i know run it. we always said if we ever got in trouble, we'd say that we ran empty up in the hills and some loggers filled us up with off road so we could make it back to town. me and my dad finished off our last 500 gallon tank about a year ago because it's still more expensive than veg oil. if there was no off road in the tank and they found red dye in the filter they couldn't prove you ran it while "on road". just say you were "off road" that time.

You can say what ever you want at your defense trial. it is your dollar. I have very little doubt that the person dipping your tank could care less your reason. He's likely heard it all before. So in all probablility you WILL be prosecuted and given the opportunity to defend yourself in court, at your expense. So even if you do win, you will still loose that money. Probably cheaper to run the LEGAL stuff. Just my opinion though.
