I did a quick, rough photoshop of my 2wd with a 6" lift (also some painted handles and tint :D ). Do you think that this would be its approximate size with the lift on it? I'm just trying to get a good idea of what she'd look like, and if I'd even want to go that tall.

Looks good. Nice job with the photoshop. That is close, I am going to go with alittle bit taller though. You will have to see what size tire you can fit underneath. I want to say that you can put 37's under it maybe alittle taller. You will just have to check with offroad shop.

Well I'm wondering what size tire I could actually put under there... Fabtech says that the 6" lift on a 2wd would fit 315/70-17 (about 34.5") with minor trimming. I know a 6" on a 4wd would easily fit those 35's, but Ford specs show that mine is about 2-3.5 inches shorter than a 4x4...who knows :dunno

One question I ask is... why lift a 2 wheel drive? I could understand a leveling kit, but a 6" lift? I know I know, because you can. But is there another reason to lift it?

Not for off-roading. I've had slightly lifted 4x4s in the past, and I just can't seem to get over how low this model is. Its just for personal satisfaction, because I think a truck should be taller.:dunno I may not even do it-just a thought

Didn't have mcuh choice with the 2wd. My old car had been broken into twice this summer, got rid of it and was driving a borrowed car in the meantime. This one came available and was the right price, plus it was from a close relative so I knew the history. I'd rather spend the extra 100 or 200 bucks for a 6" lift if I know who and how the truck was used. Plus, I'm not going for intense height here, the 6" will bring it up only a little taller than an FX4. 2wd was not my first option, but it was the right option. I dont go off-road, the only time I'd ever use 4 was if I was stuck on a boat launch somewhere (which I dont see happening from my experience). I just like trucks a little taller.
