Rotella T Synthetic

I have a question on the Rotella Synthetic 5W-40. A friend of mine just put the 5W-40 in his truck yesterday. Same truck as mine, same year, same engine and it sounds a heckuva lot louder than it did before he changed the oil. He asked me if I noticed it and I said I did. What would cause that?

I think he had regular Pennzoil 15W-40 in before the change.

Mine seemed quieter/smoother too. It is possible that it was wishful thinking though.

not in my case. my MPG's went up about 5mpg (back to normal) and the wife noticed how quiet it ran. little bit beyond wishful thinking. but the shot oil might of been to blame too.

Maybe it was loud at first because he only started it up and ran the engine in place for a short time. But since he's been driving it he said he did notice a difference and that it was definitely quieter. I have it in my truck and after I made the change I noticed the engine was quieter--I'm happy with it.
