Decided on the Rhino spray in liner. They have a good reputation for a durable product. Now I need to install the 5er hitch.
Anyone have this liner for more than five years? How does it look after five years?

Thanks

I've had mine about 6 years. It is very difficult to keep clean. Dirt, blood, etc. gets embedded in the pores and makes it look dingey. Pressure washer helps but still requires extensive scrubbing. Whenever you wash your truck, scrub the bed rail tops or you will get black stuff on your arms whenever you lean on the rails. The clean up has been my only complaint. It has held up very well. The installer will just try to sell you another product that helps re-shine it. Wasnt worth the cost and effort required to me.

Yes this installer tried to sell me a sealer product. Have you tried it? I kept the bed rail caps, so no problem with them.
Thanks

no, the salesman I spoke to demonstrated it and I could see it was going to take a LOT of effort to seal the entire bed by hand. It requires rubbing on by hand. I have also noticed the 1 square foot area he demonstrated for me only lasted a month or two before it again looked just like the rest of it.

It's not a huge deal really. I still like it and it doesnt look terrible. It just looks dirtier than I would prefer. But, I suppose that is to be expected in the exposed bed area. Once or twice a year I use a pressure washer on it. If you had one that could spray a detergent on at high pressure that might work pretty well. Mine doesnt have any way to add it though.

Maxtor-
by looking at the photo, the tailgate looks like the only thing where they removed the bolts. the bulkhead looks like they left the rubber plugs and tie-down hooks on and sprayed over them?? T/F. I've got 3+ years on mine. Slightly dull but a power wash usually cleans it up. Factory bed caps and tailgate top were all removed and then reinstalled. All my tie-downs, bolts were removed and re-installed after liner put in - so as to when (if) needed to remove such item it would not strip off the liner. Great quality product and hold up to landscaping standards: diesel spills, block, pallets, the occasional fork lift gouge:doh: which still did not go below the thickness of the liner. I love mine. It is a Proguard bedliner.

didn't see the pics but if you need to you can use a grinder and get at those bed bolts or one of those open circle drill bits then peel it off the bolt head.

I like the idea of Rhino Lining, but I don't like how quickly it fades. I had my old 01 F150 sprayed by a Rhino Linings Dealer, and 6 months later, the damned black was almost gray. i don't know if they've changed their chemical composition since then, but my next polyurethane lining will be Vortex. No fading.

He did spray over the rubber plugs..Darn...-mad I forgot to tell him to take them out before spraying, so its my fault. He did remove the tie-down hooks before spraying. He sprayed up to the bed rail caps, but not under them and up to the tail gate cap as I asked him to do. Other than the rubber plugs, it came out just like I wanted it to.
Some say that the color will fade, and some say no. There should be some product out there to protect it from fading. If it is going to fade, it will do it here, because we have summers that are 105-115 for one to two weeks straight. No humidity, but very hot..

Thank you all for your inputs.

it's the UV that causes fading, not so much the heat... sometimes the UV index is higher on cool overcast days than hot clear days.. Todays liners have a pretty tough UV blocker in them, so comparing it to one sprayed 5 years ago isn't really accurate.

A good wax might prevent fading, but it's going to get rubbed off while loading and unloading stuff anyways.

I had the Rhino liner installed July 2005- it always looks dull- faded- yet I didn't expect anything different- after all its far better than the old bedliner. It serves its purpose.

I am always loading thing in the bed- afterall thats why I have a truck. I have seen the Line X it stays shinier- yet it is real slick. I feel I have got my monies worth and would not recommend the cleaner- waist of money.

I don't really think there is anything better. The Rhino and Line X is a flip- onestays shinny and the other (Rhino) fades- personally I go with the Rhino- we have 4 trucks all have the rhino- the outside of the trucks look nice the inside is hammered.
