Rear Diff Leak...............

I'm wondering how similar the DANA 80 is to the Sterling... I too am in the exact same boat... Vent tube had Mud Dobbers living in it.....

they should be very similar procedure in changing the seal if you have a seal leaking. if you have rear drum brakes it might be a little more involved, but shouldn`t be too bad....hope this helps....

I never did see a vent tube....................:dunno

Not sure if it is the same on the newer trucks but on the OBS the vent tube comes out of a T where the steel brake lines are attached to each other. The bolt that holds the T to the housing has a hole through the center with a barb fitting sticking out the end. The rubber vent hose that is attached to the barb runs up inside the frame rail. The T is located on the left axle tube.

My Vent tube is on the left hand side of the axle tube.. (facing forward) couple of inches away from the spring pad. it has a clip on the frame to hold the hose up, and a barb that is screwed into the tube to plug the hose on to.
