Here is a quote from AutoJim (cooling guy- he knows his stuff) over on TDS, he was asked what the max temp is on the 6.0 -

"
"If it goes over 230F top water, start a clock. You have about 45 minutes to finish towing up that mountain.

If it goes over 245F, that's your stop, park facing into the wind, and let it idle temp.

Don't worry about not catching it if it goes that high, though: the AC will shut off around 238F coolant temp, which will certainly let you know.

But again, it's exceedingly unlikely you'll ever get it that hot. Certainly not within the GCWR of an F250: the cooling package is sized to work in the F550.
