There is nothing the matter with the performance mods you plan to do the motor will take it without a hick up although the back tires might not!! \

The weakest link after doing your mods is definitely the stock 4R100 transmission. They will only take so much abuse before they give up the ghost. There are several different ways to upgrade a stock 4R100, valve body work to shift timing and shift firmness, an after market torque converter, and their are also many other tricks that the tranny guys don't like to tell anybody.

I believe most of the edge products do de-fuel the truck (put it into limp mode) when they detect transmission slippage.

I run a superchips tuner and a bullydog adjustable module module which work well with my other mods but I am thinking on upgraded/updating to a DP tuner or a TS performance 6 position chip. I like my bullydog module better than the superchips tuner because it seems to make more power and is adjustable on the fly.

Depends really on what you want. If you want a programmer, SCT XCal2. Hands down the best because it is the only one you can have customed tuned for you by many of the vendors that sell them. If you want a chip so you can change on the fly there are many choices. The common ones are DP, Wildman, DI.

I was looking at every system out there that I could find any info about. I started talking to a friend of mine and he ran the Edge Attitude on his GMC and really liked it.
I rode in Whatabudro's truck that had a six position chip and was totally impressed.
As it turns out, my buddy liked his Edge so much, he bought me one. It is great but it had no way to adjust the trans, so I had to buy the Edge Evolution to get it to shift better and the Evolution added a ton more low end punch. If I had it all to do over again, I think I would have gone with a six position chip and traditional gauges (and hid the switch from my wife.)
My truck is my daily driver and HAS to be dependable. I have had no issues with the Edge set up and really enjoy the power. Either way, what ever system you chose will only be as safe as you drive the vehicle. I enjoy the extra power and smoking a rice burner as much as the next guy - I just make sure I don't smoke them all so I can still get to work the next day!

kevin-

if you read the responses for both of the threads that you started, you will see that the answers are pretty much the same.

save your bread- unless you NEED exhaust system, get a walker BTM instead ($75), get a DP tuner 80HP econo chip, make a $50 DIY intake (see wiki) and get some GAUGES with the leftovers.

spend a little time reading in the wiki here, and using the search, you will be amazed at how much stuff has been talked about so far ;)
