Polished Boost Tubes

Ok since I have nothing better to do on a Friday night I was thinking it would be nice to dress up the engine bay of my truck. What I am wondering is are the boost tubes on these trucks aluminum and has anyone here attempted to polish them? I think that it would look pretty good and be a pretty inexpensive mod to dress up the engine bays of our truck.

I think that it will be a good I have nothing better to do project some weekend this summer when I can get outside and work on the truck.

BUT...
I might be inclined to tell you to start with a Roloc or similar disc to prepare the surface, then use a power buffer...

Bama how long was your truck down? I may decide to go this route instead depending on the down time. I may also try and find another good set out of a junk yard so my truck isnt down for an extended amount of time.
