This is a very sad day in the world of broadcasting:
Broadcasting pioneer Paul Harvey dies at age of 90
I have listened to him almost all of my 56 years.
We'll never hear "Hello Americans, this is Paul Harvey.....Stand By For News!!!!" and "Hello Americans, this is Paul Harvey....IT'S FRIDAY!!!!"
Good Day!!! I'm really gonna miss him. There will be others but never another Paul Harvey.

I heard that... what am I going to listen to in the tractor now? It's just not the same with junior....

Amen to that!!! Junior's good, but he's not as good as the original. Ron Chapman (a former DJ here in the Dallas area) has been filling in a good bit for a long time and does a GREAT job, but again, it's just not the same. I'm sure that this will be the end of this type news program. Mike Huckabee is doing a great job with "The Huckabee Report" because he has the same type of delivery as Paul Harvey. I've got a feeling that they've been "grooming" him to step in. Guess we'll start finding out Monday at 11:45 AM Eastern Time.

He was one of my favorites to and I was sadden to hear of his death. He will be greatly missed from walks of life. He had great run in life, 90 years is a good long life but when you are this good, 90 years is a blink of an eye!

RIP Paul Harvey and Gods Speed!

Our local ABC station broke into regular programming with the announcement.

That's how important Paul Harvey was around here...

X8 with everything said so far.

I listened to him ALOT, especially on my way home from work everyday. His "The Rest Of The Story" was part of everyday life 'round here.

Paul Harvey, his take & delivery on things, was a Topic for Many an intelligent discussion & debate. I will miss him. He was part of life for many.

An "Amercan Icon" in my book.

I used to listen to a lot of radio stations in my travels for work years ago. I'd always turn it up when I heard "STANDBY FOR NEWS!!" I enjoyed the "Rest of the Story" too. Those tales would always make one slow down & listen for at least a few moments.

So long Paul, you were one of a kind.:(:(
