I got the ScangaugeII in the mail yesterday. It was hooked up and working in minutes. So far I think it is great. I will be towing my camper next week and am curious to see if there really is a difference in readings between the Scangauge and the dash guage. I will let you all know.

The ScanGauge verified that the instrument cluster is accurate. 90% of the time the temp would run up to 216-224 then aux fan would kick in and drive it back down to about 195. The other 10% of the time, the fan will come on and the temp continues to climb. The highest I saw this trip was 236 which is near the top edge of the white band on the cluster. The dealer says that 240 is the max temp before damageing temps. So, now I am back to wondering what is causing this to happen. Guess I will look into it some more.

Also had another issue, my Ignitor control module burnt up while at the state park. Had to have it towed, find a part, etc... (long story). Good news is I had 291 miles left on the 100k warranty. It was all covered.

Sorry about the bad luck, but great you didn't turn the dreaded 100k mark! Did you ever rule out a clogged oil cooler? Check out post #14 from Bushpilot. Did the dealer check those two temp.'s? Unfortunately the ScanguageII doesn't list the commands for oil temp.to be programed into the X-guage feature. Does anyone know where we can get these code commands? I've called Scanguage(linear logic)but they weren't able to help. The guy their tells me,"Ford doesn't want you to know these temp.'s". I had to laugh! :D
