Oil filter of choice?

i use all motorcraft filters.

I get my Motorcraft filter at Advance Auto for about $20 or less. Napa is charging $29 (WOW). I have not checked wal-mart yet, but will. I've also heard the wal-mart filters have a different part number on the box... something about ending in AB vs the AA. the ones I get from Advance are AA. Not sure what that all means either. I'm suprised theres not more people jumping on the Amsoil filters. seems like theres a lot of amsoil buffs around with these trucks. It's design (to me) looks like the wix filter design, with different elements.

Arvin Meritor sold Purolator to Bosch and Mann. Aren't those cartridge filters? Racor makes the Motorcraft and Fram elements for the 6.0.

The Goods and The bads was from 1999, and apparently was conducted on the filter used on Ford 5.0 gas engines. Not sure its relevant to the cartridge type used on the 6.0, or after almost 9 years relevant at all.

I use a purolator filter. I can't speak for the 6L but all other fram filters are junk. If its a gas engine I use wix.

On our Powerstrokes we've stuck with Motorcraft,Purolator and WIX.

The lists I put up are years old so I can't vouch for their accuracy.
