Noisy Cab

I have had my 2005 SD crew into the dealer numerous times to adjust the doors- cab is noisy- yesterday returning from Diesel Truck drags in Bakersfield, CA- the wind was nasty- I could barely hear my son from the passenger seat- have any of you guys had the same problem- this is one of many trucks I have owned nothing this bad- not a cheap truck- I still have a E250 van- and no noise.

Any direction would be appreciated.......

I would start with the"door seal" mod. If that isn't good enough, you can do this. View attachment 7614

I started this weekend and hopefully the brown truck shows up this week with some sound dampening material. The door seal mod should do what you are complaining about. This is probably a little excessive.

I already have lights in the front doors. I will be adding some to the rear. I will also be completely rewiring all of the add on stuff that I have done since it is all apart. This will probably be a 3 to 4 weekend project. I got everything out and all interior panels cleaned as well as the insides of the doors. Rust inhibitor will be going inside the doors as well.

and to the OP - I'd try the door seal mod first .. I know I am about to do that to see if it helps any for those windy days here in OK which are more often than not!

Soooooooooooooooooo did you gut the dash to install the security system, or to install the hush mat material, or was it just a good opportunity to do the hush mat while you were installing the security system?
