Just wanted to say hi. In the process of purchasing my first truck and frist diesel. I put a down payment on a 2000 F350 with 90,000. I fly out the 16th to pic it up in cali. Will be driven it home to nebarska.

Just curious if anyone is in cali that could check out the truck before i fly out on fri. After I made the down payment I started looking into the dealer ship and started to find some neg thing. I know I should have first and I probably jumped the gun, but im where im at now. The truck is located at huntington beach ford. If anyone in cal. could stop and do a newbie a huge favor by looking over the truck before i fly out there and find out im screwed it would be a favor i could never repay. Thanks for any help.

Ducky, welcome to SSD.com. Do you have the vin number of this truck and can you take it to a Ford dealer near you and have them run the history of this truck. That would tell you every time it's been a Ford shop and what for. Others can tell you more about that. I don't know anyone near that dealer that knows diesel trucks.
Wish I could help more.Good Luck..

Well it sucks to say that i dont think i will be buying this truck now. The dealer tried telling me "well if it stayed true to its average mileage a year it would only have like 125***" OKAY, Now you make it seem like you know its not the real mileage. So then i ask if we could do anything about the down payment and he said... in a not so nice tone." Well you should have done all of this searchin before, no refund" I know i should have but i guess there are nicer ways of telling someone that. After reading a lot of reviews about Huntington beach ford im not sure i want to do business with them anyways. They have proven there reputation.

I am going to look into the deposit some more and see. But i did sign a piece of paper so they may have me. S.O.B

Welcome aboard Ducky. Sorry to hear about your luck with the truck. I was reading the posts on the posts on the "Community" section. I agree with the others. You should report them to both Ford and to a consumer protection group. I'd also report them to the Better Business Bureau. Of course, you need all the documentation possible to back up your situation. First thing, though, you need to send a certified letter (with return receipt) to the dealership asking for them to send back your down payment. Also if you make any phone calls to the dealership, be sure to document EVERYTHING (date, time, name of person you spoke to, etc.). The more "ammunition" you have, the better.
