You cannot push the stock tranny very far at all. I would recommend a trans temp gauge, a larger tranny cooler, and something like the Sonnax kit for firming up shifts at a bare minimum, possibly going with an upgraded Torque convertor and pump modifications as well.

If you scatter your tranny you are looking at 2000 to put in a rebuilt unit that wont last 20,000 miles and close to 4 grand for a bullet proof unbreakable unit. Take care of the one you got.

well i am waiting on the sonnax kit i have one on the way. with all the mods you listed, the tranny cooler, sonnax kit, torque converter, and pump mods how strong would my tranny be?
And what other mods are there to make it stronger without me having to buy a new one? "Dont have that kind of money"

I dont kow if youve priced torque convertors or not but they are expensive in our trucks. You can dump an easy $1,000 on a quality TC, Precision Industries and Suncoast come to mind. But if you put a good TC in with an additional cooler, and sonnax kit you can handle 400 hp assuming the rest of your tranny (clutches, planetarys etc etc..)hasnt been abused.

Hmmm, you want a good deep throaty sounding truck? Try an open element air intake with a full downpipe that goes into a 4" exhaust system. You'll love the sound. You might try the Wicked Wheel mod for the turbo compressor (you'll love the whistle) and bump your fuel pressure for better throttle response.

Deep throaty sounding truck is exactly what i want. Will my stock tranny be able to hold the intake, full exhaust and a chip?

If you do the sonnax kit and a better cooler, yes you should be alright.
