Thanks for the replies.

I do have seveal boost gauges on the shelf
(been into older turbo Subarus for 10 years)

I can't find a simple place to breech the bulhead.
I have a place for a fitting on the intake elbow.

Sorry, I am not in favor of taking a drill to my
almost new 40k$ truck.
Shame on me i guess, I'll look harder.
I'm a sissy I know.

The real question here is will the vanes of the VVT free them selves or
does the turbo have to come off at 11 kmi?

These sit on dealer lots for months before getting sold.
Do the have a staff of drivers that excersize them?

damn... how are you guys getting 30+ lbs boost?? im guessing mods?? im stock and with a good hard pull.. ill hit 27ish... anyways...

yea skippi... mine supposedly sat on the lot for 5 months. they claimed to have done maintenance charges on the batteries once a month.... i guess its possible cause she cranked right up when i went for the test drive... i didnt beat her too hard. i noticed 20lbs when i really got on it... and said ok... cool. after a few days of fun... she kept climbin higher and higher... 27 is all i get on a good pull.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I have been looking for some way to get a
hose through the firewall.
Seems to be double walled and I'd like to take
the advice on getting a real boost gauge installed.

Maybe my factory gauge is faulty but it sure
does not feel like it's pulling as hard as it did.

Tony, I read that you got 20 on the test drive - then it
worked it's way up to 27.

I am wondering if -with exercise - the vanes in the VVT will loosen up.
Maybe all I need to do it take her out and ride her hard?

Thanks for reading.

Just a bit of an update

I talked with Bama and Royboy - thanks for the help guys.

I found a groment down low under and left of the main wire harness
gromet, that allowed me to run the line for a VDO boost gauge I had.

This is just a boost gauge no vacuum function -> 0-30 psi

The factory gauge is not far off just not marked very well.

With a strong spankin' I saw 28 psi.

Hit 24 psi easy then jumped to 26 at about 60 MPH

Where do you guys find the room to keep it pegged this long!!
I was at 80+ by the time I saw max and climbing fast!!!

My back goat trail roads don't ecourage this stuff.

Thanks again for all the replies and your time.

move to texas ;) we dont typically have big hills but we
got some LONG FLAT STRAIGHTs.

interstate on ramps are typically a GOOD chance to max out the boost...
I typically see 30-32psi, w/ the exception of an MBRP turbo-back /
cat delete...i mean TEST pipe, I am STOCK !
